“Herd Dispersal - Alclutha White Galloway and Glenfinnan Standard Galloway Studs (listed 2/1/13) Pending the sale of our property expressions of interest are invited for the above two studs. Both studs were established in 2007 and have become well known for their progeny. We were TB tested in July 2012 and we are now C8. All but one animal are registered with the Galloway Cattle society. Society members can obtain full details of the individual animals using the Society’s “On Line” Herd Book. All animals are also listed on our own website www.alcluthagalloways.co.nz Alclutha White Galloways - Summary This stud is made up of 1 well marked bull aged 4 years and 15 cows of mixed ages ranging from 2 to 16 years; the majority are 5 to 6 years old. All but 2 of them are well marked, 1 is dun marked and the youngest is unmarked. A number have calves at foot and others are in calf. In addition there are 5 young white bulls; 2 are well marked, 2 are lightly marked and 1 is Appendix white. There are also 2 Appendix White steers, 1 of which is a grade and unregisterable. There are 9 white heifers born between February and October 2012; 3 are well marked, 2 are lightly marked, 2 are unmarked and 2 are Appendix Whites. All animals, except the Grade steer mentioned above, born prior to 2012 are registered with the Galloway Cattle Society of New Zealand. All 13 calves born in 2012 are registerable. The stud has been vaccinated for BVD. Glenfinnan Standard Galloways - Summary This stud has 1 breeding bull aged 4 years and 10 breeding cows of mixed ages ranging from 3 to 8 years. Of these 10 cows, 8 are from the Colvend line and the other 2 have Glen Kelso Connor as their AI sire. A number have calves at foot and others are in calf. In addition there are 5 young bulls born between January and November 2012 as well as 10 heifers born between February 2011 and June 2012. There are another 3 calves born in December 2012 for which the gender has yet to be confirmed. All animals born prior to 2012 are registered with the Galloway Cattle Society of New Zealand. All 12 calves born in 2012 are registerable. For Further Information Both studs are recorded on a Breedmate database as well as on the Society’s “On Line” Herd Book. Conditions of Sale for all animals will be as posted on our website. Inspection by arrangement is welcome; please contact John. Purchase Arrangements We seek expressions of interest in either or both studs from other breeders. We would prefer each stud, and in particular the Glenfinnan Standard stud, be sold as a complete unit and at a price open to negotiation.
